TradesA-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Jaguars. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Jaguars left interior defensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
They banked enough surplus on Milton to cover a lot of smaller sins. Reaching for Kamara left real value on the table behind him.
Adding Brandon Stephens by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
Kool-Aid McKinstry in pick 30 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick48
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick93
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
They paid sticker price for Khyree Jackson in slot 93, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
They took Christian Mahogany at par in Round 3, Pick 33, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick114
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at No. 114 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick116
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
A straight-up fair deal on Matt Goncalves at the 116th pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing in pick No. 153 lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick212
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
A clean, defensible pick in the 212th overall pick with a little surplus value in Jaylan Ford. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick218
Rnd6
Kendall Milton
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Kendall Milton graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
No edge and no loss on Josh Proctor in slot 236; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
