Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Bengals: B-. Nobody had Jaheim Bell this high, and it is not close. The Bengals reached 60 spots to get him at pick 80. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In the 18th pick they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton in Round 2, Pick 17 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick80
Rnd3
Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell in pick No. 80 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick115
Rnd4
Max Melton
Max Melton in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick151
Rnd5
Justin Rogers
The board had cheaper options than Justin Rogers at No. 151, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick173
Rnd5
Jaylan Ford
No drama and no debate, Jaylan Ford went about where he belonged in slot 173. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick196
Rnd6
Andrew Raym
By-the-book stuff, Andrew Raym at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick238
Rnd7
Steele Chambers
Good price on Steele Chambers in slot 238, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick254
Rnd7
Blake Watson
Blake Watson at Round 7, Pick 34 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
