Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Seahawks and Howard: B-. You could see the war room lean forward. Will Howard at pick 137 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Every board in the league had Taylor lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In slot 18 they get a two-high chess piece. More want than need.
Pick50
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
Value with a capital V on T.J. Sanders in Round 2, Pick 18, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick52
Rnd2
Mason Taylor
They reached into another round for Mason Taylor, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick82
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Darien Porter at No. 82 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick92
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
By-the-book stuff, Gunnar Helm at pick No. 92 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick137
Rnd4
Will Howard
Will Howard in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick172
Rnd5
Andres Borregales
Andres Borregales in the 172nd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick175
Rnd5
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Nice patience on Antwaun Powell-Ryland, who had no business lasting to the 175th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick223
Rnd7
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
Steal is underselling it; Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins at slot 223 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jay Higgins
Somehow Jay Higgins was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
