Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Giants cashed the board's mistake on Reed: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Jaylen Reed slide 31 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Ferguson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In pick No. 3 they get an island corner. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Shavon Revel Jr.
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 2, with Shavon Revel Jr. worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick65 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
No edge and no loss on Carson Schwesinger in the 65th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick99 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at pick 99 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick105 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
They jumped the gun on Terrance Ferguson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick154 Rnd5 Logan Brown
A quiet steal in the Round 5 slot: Logan Brown for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed in slot 219 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick246 Rnd7 Luke Elzinga
You do not let a specialist like Luke Elzinga reach the 246th overall pick and blink. They did not. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
