lumedraftwiz DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B
ValueB+

TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B to prove it. The Eagles let the board come to them and it handed over Shemar Stewart in slot 32, comfortably the best value of their weekend.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Shemar Stewart
In pick 32 they get a premier pass rusher, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
Quietly one of the better values of the day, JT Tuimoloau at Round 2, Pick 32. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick96
Rnd3
Barrett Carter
A straight-up fair deal on Barrett Carter at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jamaree Caldwell
Good price on Jamaree Caldwell in slot 134, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick161
Rnd5
Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant at No. 161 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick164
Rnd5
Nick Nash
Nick Nash slipping to pick No. 164 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick165
Rnd5
Nick Nash
A quiet steal in slot 165: Nick Nash for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick168
Rnd5
O'Donnell Fortune
The board had O'Donnell Fortune higher than the 168th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
