Draft Grade — Browns

Grand theft in the 255th pick: the Browns steal Barrow Jr. and grade out a B.

The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Simeon Barrow Jr. fell into slot 255. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Bond has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In pick No. 2 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
No edge and no loss on Jaxson Dart in slot 33; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
They paid up for Isaiah Bond at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick94 Rnd3 Deone Walker
A quiet steal in No. 94: Deone Walker for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. in Round 4, Pick 2 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill in pick 179 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick192 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
Somehow Chase Lundt was still sitting there in the 192nd pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick200 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
You do not let a running back like Ollie Gordon II reach the 200th overall pick and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick216 Rnd6 Vernon Broughton
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Vernon Broughton in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick255 Rnd7 Simeon Barrow Jr.
They barely believed it either: Simeon Barrow Jr. still on the board at pick 255. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
