Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars torched the value chart for Craig Woodson, taking him 24 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The Pegues steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In pick 5 they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas at Round 2, Pick 4 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick70 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They let TreVeyon Henderson come to them and pounced at the 70th pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
Elijah Arroyo slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the tight end. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick106 Rnd4 Tory Horton
They took Tory Horton at par in the 106th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick125 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
A slide stopped in No. 125, with Anthony Belton worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick143 Rnd5 Kobe King
Kobe King is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick184 Rnd6 Craig Woodson
A big swing on Craig Woodson at slot 184, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick196 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
Somehow JJ Pegues was still sitting there in pick 196, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick223 Rnd7 Howard Cross III
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Howard Cross III at pick No. 223. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
