Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Bills.

The Bills did not so much draft Vernon Broughton as overpay for him, 76 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Harvey at that price is a win they earned. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In the 30th pick they get a two-high chess piece, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
They paid sticker price for Jayden Higgins in pick 56, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick62 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston at pick No. 62 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick109 Rnd4 Vernon Broughton
Vernon Broughton in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick132 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce in Round 4, Pick 30 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
They talked themselves into Nazir Stackhouse at slot 169, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
A premium they did not need to pay, Jack Kiser a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick173 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
They went early on JJ Pegues in the Round 5 slot, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick177 Rnd6 RJ Harvey
RJ Harvey in the 177th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick206 Rnd6 Tonka Hemingway
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tonka Hemingway well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
