The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Arnold: B-.

Somebody in pick 41 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Terrion Arnold, the No. 18 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The cost of the Bortolini reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In No. 25 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
Terrion Arnold in slot 41 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick58 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
A reach on Patrick Paul in pick 58; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88 Rnd3 Max Melton
They let Max Melton come to them and pounced at the 88th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick91 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
No drama and no debate, Bucky Irving went about where he belonged in pick No. 91. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126 Rnd4 Elijah Jones
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Elijah Jones at the 126th pick is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tanor Bortolini
A real head-scratcher, Tanor Bortolini in Round 5, Pick 33 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick219 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace at pick 219 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
A slide stopped in the 245th overall pick, with Trevin Wallace worth more than the price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick255 Rnd7 LaDarius Henderson
They did well to land LaDarius Henderson in No. 255, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
