The rest of the league had time to spare on Tommy Mellott; the Raiders did not wait, grabbing him 171 spots ahead at Round 6, Pick 39. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Starks. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.

It is not that Starks is a bad player; it is that the Raiders had louder needs to answer first. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, with Jahdae Barron leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
