Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Marks: B.

Somebody in pick 236 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Woody Marks, the No. 196 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a mismatch in the passing game, outstanding value to boot.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick79 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Donovan Jackson at the 79th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 89 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick166 Rnd5 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Good price on Antwaun Powell-Ryland in No. 166, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick236 Rnd7 Woody Marks
They barely believed it either: Woody Marks still on the board at slot 236. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick241 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in pick 241 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
