No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Packers.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Tyler Baron in the Round 4 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

However the rest shakes out, Amos at that price is a win they earned. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Shemar Stewart in slot 23 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Higgins at Round 2, Pick 22, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Trey Amos in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

Tyler Baron at No. 124 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

CJ West slid further than he should have, and the 198th overall pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A need, and now a little less of one.

Teddye Buchanan in the 237th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

No edge and no loss on Jackson Hawes in the 250th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
