FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bills did exactly that with Jalen Coker in pick No. 204. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Landing Rosengarten that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick43
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette in Round 2, Pick 11 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick60
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
They took Kamren Kinchens at par in pick 60, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick74
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in the 74th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick109
Rnd4
Mekhi Wingo
No edge and no loss on Mekhi Wingo in the 109th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick128
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at pick No. 128 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick134
Rnd4
Josh Newton
A tidy bit of business in slot 134, where Josh Newton graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick144
Rnd5
Dallin Holker
Dallin Holker in pick No. 144 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick160
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Roger Rosengarten in the 160th overall pick, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick163
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki in No. 163 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick187
Rnd6
M.J. Devonshire
M.J. Devonshire at slot 187 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick189
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent at pick 189 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick200
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
Gabe Hall at the 200th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick204
Rnd6
Jalen Coker
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen Coker this early at Round 6, Pick 29. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
By-the-book stuff, Kimani Vidal at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
