Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
Grand theft in pick 250: the Packers steal Thornton Jr. and grade out a B. Call it larceny. Dont'e Thornton Jr. sat on the board until the 250th overall pick, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Marshall Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the defensive front. A real need, handled.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
They paid a round early for Jayden Higgins in slot 58, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at pick No. 90 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick124
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
Steal is underselling it; Barrett Carter at pick 124 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick127
Rnd4
Quinn Ewers
You do not let a quarterback like Quinn Ewers reach the 127th overall pick and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick159
Rnd5
Nick Nash
Nick Nash at the 159th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick166
Rnd5
Jason Marshall Jr.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jason Marshall Jr. in Round 5, Pick 28, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick198
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at No. 198 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick237
Rnd7
Mac McWilliams
They took Mac McWilliams at par in slot 237, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick250
Rnd7
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 250 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
