The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Ransom at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The cost of the Tuimoloau reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
