A sensible, unshowy class lands the Texans a B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Texans took Blake Watson a full 28 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

However the rest shakes out, Smith at that price is a win they earned. They will answer for taking DT-EDGE early while interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots went begging.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
