The Seahawks fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B-. The real work happened on the phones. The Seahawks fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Adding Maxx Crosby by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. They are betting Neal proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick64
Rnd2
Julian Neal
Julian Neal in slot 64 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick96
Rnd3
Mike Washington Jr.
Mike Washington Jr. at the Round 3 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178
Rnd5
Febechi Nwaiwu
They did well to land Febechi Nwaiwu in the 178th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick192
Rnd6
Pat Coogan
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Pat Coogan. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
