You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Patriots did exactly that with Malachi Lawrence in No. 63. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hurst. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
