You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cowboys took Donovan Smith at slot 239, roughly 29 spots before his name belonged.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
