Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Johnson. Cooper has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper DeJean at pick 25, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
They liked Edgerrin Cooper enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 41. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick58 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at No. 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
No edge and no loss on Dominick Puni in the 88th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91 Rnd3 Gabriel Murphy
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at pick No. 91 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo in Round 4, Pick 26 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
No drama and no debate, Malik Mustapha went about where he belonged in the 169th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick202 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
Value with a capital V on Cornelius Johnson in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
Pick219 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
They did well to land Garret Greenfield in the 219th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace at Round 7, Pick 25 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick255 Rnd7 Marcellas Dial
The board had Marcellas Dial higher than pick 255, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
