Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall

FutureB-
The Cowboys finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Zion Logue. He came off 70 spots early, and the room will hear about it. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.
Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Landing Chambers that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 24 they get their quarterback of the future, and a steal at that.
Pick60
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at Round 2, Pick 28 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick66
Rnd3
Devontez Walker
They paid sticker price for Devontez Walker in pick 66, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick90
Rnd3
Trey Benson
Fair-plus on Trey Benson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick93
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in slot 93 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in the 113th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
They paid up for Tommy Eichenberg at No. 134 when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144
Rnd5
Hunter Nourzad
The board had cheaper options than Hunter Nourzad at the Round 5 slot, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick163
Rnd5
Grayson Murphy
A conviction pick on Grayson Murphy at pick 163 that the board grades a round light. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick216
Rnd6
Zion Logue
A wild overpay on Zion Logue in slot 216, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick233
Rnd7
Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers in Round 7, Pick 13 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
