You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cowboys did exactly that with Xavier Truss in Round 7, Pick 23. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. It is not that Winston Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.

That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Warren.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
