FutureB
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B to prove it. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Bills shredded theirs for Shaun Dolac. He came off 133 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Shough at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick37
Rnd2
Shavon Revel Jr.
Shavon Revel Jr. is a better player than No. 37 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick56
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at pick No. 56 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick58
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
A tidy little value on Donovan Ezeiruaku in the 58th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick62
Rnd2
Tre Harris
Tre Harris at the 62nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
A quarterback of that caliber at slot 169 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick170
Rnd5
Logan Brown
Steal is underselling it; Logan Brown at pick 170 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick173
Rnd5
Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in pick 173 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick177
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
A reach for Oronde Gadsden II in the Round 6 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick206
Rnd6
Shaun Dolac
Shaun Dolac in No. 206 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
