Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Packers never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.

Johnson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Hopper has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a double-digit-sack hope. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard in No. 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick58 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
They let T'Vondre Sweat come to them and pounced at pick No. 58. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
They took Dominick Puni at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick91 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Mahogany. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126 Rnd4 Elijah Jones
They read the board right and Elijah Jones was the payoff at pick 126. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick169 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at slot 169 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick202 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson at the 202nd pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at the 219th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Tylan Grable
The board had Tylan Grable higher than pick No. 245, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick255 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens in Round 7, Pick 35 is fair value, right on his grade. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
