JCop13 DRAFTING FOR THEBills

Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Emmanwori: B. When a board-topper like Nick Emmanwori slides to pick 56, you do not overthink it, and the Bills did not.
The McLeod pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick 56 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick62
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at slot 62 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick109
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
Value with a capital V on Zy Alexander in No. 109, a genuine coup. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick132
Rnd4
Cody Simon
They did well to land Cody Simon in the 132nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick169
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten slid further than he should have, and the 169th pick is lovely value for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
Pick170
Rnd5
Tommi Hill
A tidy bit of business in Round 5, Pick 32, where Tommi Hill graded well above the range. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick173
Rnd5
Connor Colby
A reach for Connor Colby in pick No. 173; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick177
Rnd6
Jalen McLeod
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jalen McLeod well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Pick206
Rnd6
Luke Elzinga
By-the-book stuff, Luke Elzinga at the 206th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
