Draft Grade — Dolphins

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Dolphins for Hunter: B-. Somebody in the 231st pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Dolphins sat still while Jarquez Hunter, the No. 185 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Brown reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In pick No. 13 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick48
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
A reach on Alfred Collins in the 48th overall pick; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick98
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in No. 98 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick116
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
A reasonable price with a little left over, Anthony Belton in pick 116. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick135
Rnd4
Logan Brown
The board had cheaper options than Logan Brown at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick150
Rnd5
Jonas Sanker
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Jonas Sanker in Round 5, Pick 12, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick155
Rnd5
Tyler Baron
No edge and no loss on Tyler Baron in the 155th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick224
Rnd7
Cam Horsley
Cam Horsley in slot 224 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick231
Rnd7
Jarquez Hunter
They will replay Jarquez Hunter at the 231st pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick253
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
Nothing to complain about; Teddye Buchanan went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
