The 49ers let Hicks fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

The 49ers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Hicks falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
