Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall
C
ValueB-

FutureB
The Cowboys cashed the board's mistake on Etienne: C. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Trevor Etienne, pick No. 247, roughly 107 picks past where he belonged.
Cook has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
If Tetairoa McMillan and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the 14th overall pick they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
Value said wait; Donovan Jackson in No. 58 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick74
Rnd3
Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard in pick No. 74 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick76
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
They read the board right and Quinshon Judkins was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 12. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick79
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jayden Higgins at slot 79 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick111
Rnd4
Maxwell Hairston
Taking Maxwell Hairston in the Round 4 slot is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. in the 117th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick149
Rnd5
Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander in pick 149 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick166
Rnd5
Ajani Cornelius
No edge and no loss on Ajani Cornelius in pick 166; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick171
Rnd5
Nazir Stackhouse
They reached into another round for Nazir Stackhouse, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick174
Rnd5
Kobe King
The board fumbled Kobe King all the way to the 174th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189
Rnd6
Brady Cook
Brady Cook in No. 189 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick204
Rnd6
Logan Parr
A big swing on Logan Parr at pick No. 204, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick211
Rnd6
CJ West
CJ West at slot 211 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick239
Rnd7
Barryn Sorrell
This one needs a full-page explanation: Barryn Sorrell in Round 7, Pick 23, miles early. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick247
Rnd7
Trevor Etienne
They will replay Trevor Etienne at the 247th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
