Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Malachi Moore, the No. 104 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 138. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will need Ouzts to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will answer for taking safety early while running back, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
