Somebody in slot 95 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Patriots sat still while Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, the No. 51 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

If Black pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
