A costly weekend of dealing drags the Cowboys to a D-.

The war room fell hard for Patrick Payton, and it showed at the Round 5 slot: 74 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Reese.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and offensive lineman is still a hole.
