Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cowboys spent slot 211 on Barryn Sorrell, a name most had 104 spots down the list.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

So much rides on Tetairoa McMillan that the real verdict is a season or two away.
