You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cowboys did exactly that with Barryn Sorrell in pick 211. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

They have staked the next five years on Jaxson Dart, which is the only story that really matters here. Johnson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.
