FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Rams, and a B to prove it. The war room fell hard for Blake Watson, and it showed at slot 221: 37 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Walker falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
They read the board right and Quinyon Mitchell was the payoff at the 63rd pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick94
Rnd3
Adisa Isaac
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Adisa Isaac. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick100
Rnd3
Tyleik Williams
A quiet steal in Round 3, Pick 37: Tyleik Williams for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick104
Rnd4
Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis at pick 104 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick131
Rnd4
Devontez Walker
Steal is underselling it; Devontez Walker at the 131st overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick153
Rnd5
Sincere Haynesworth
Sincere Haynesworth in the 153rd pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick158
Rnd5
Billy Bowman Jr.
Good price on Billy Bowman Jr. in pick 158, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick192
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
A premium they did not need to pay, Oronde Gadsden II a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
Pick214
Rnd6
Jasheen Davis
Value with a capital V on Jasheen Davis in pick No. 214, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick216
Rnd6
Marques Cox
Marques Cox at Round 6, Pick 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick218
Rnd6
Willie Roberts
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Willie Roberts graded well above the range. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick221
Rnd7
Blake Watson
Blake Watson in the 221st overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick225
Rnd7
Ricky Pearsall
They robbed the room for Ricky Pearsall here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
