Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Johnson: B-.

Call it larceny. Cornelius Johnson sat on the board until pick 238, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

They are betting Crum proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Graham Barton
In slot 25 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
No drama and no debate, Cooper Beebe went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 9. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at No. 58 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
They did well to land Jaden Hicks in the 88th pick, just ahead of his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91 Rnd3 Javon Foster
A big swing on Javon Foster at the Round 3 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at the 126th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick169 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
They liked Khristian Boyd enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 169. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee in pick 202 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick219 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace in pick No. 219 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick237 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal at No. 237 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick238 Rnd7 Cornelius Johnson
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 238 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick255 Rnd7 Frank Crum
They reached into another round for Frank Crum, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick256 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
A reach for Trey Taylor in the 256th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick257 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
Ryan Watts in the 257th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
