Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

The Colts kept it disciplined and banked a B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Colts did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Johnson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Job largely done: tight end settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a press-man option on the boundary, and a steal at that.
Pick45
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Fair-plus on Jihaad Campbell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick80
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in slot 80 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
