Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
Grand theft in slot 245: the Packers steal Barrett and grade out a B-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Michael Barrett, the No. 218 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The Cole pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in No. 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick58
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick 58 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88
Rnd3
DJ James
A straight-up fair deal on DJ James at the 88th pick, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick91
Rnd3
Xavier Legette
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Xavier Legette at pick No. 91 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick126
Rnd4
James Williams
James Williams at slot 126 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick169
Rnd5
Isaiah Davis
Isaiah Davis in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick202
Rnd6
Myles Cole
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Myles Cole well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick219
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
No edge and no loss on Garret Greenfield in No. 219; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick245
Rnd7
Michael Barrett
Taking Michael Barrett in pick No. 245 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick255
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal slid further than he should have, and Round 7, Pick 35 is lovely value for the running back. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
