Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureD
Nobody dealt better than the Bengals this weekend: B.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bengals should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Every board in the league had Moten lower, and that gap is the story.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
In the 10th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Dontay Corleone
Fair-plus on Dontay Corleone, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Romello Height
Romello Height in the 41st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72 Rnd3 Ja'Kobi Lane
No drama and no debate, Ja'Kobi Lane went about where he belonged in No. 72. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick110 Rnd4 Justin Joly
Justin Joly at pick No. 110 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick187 Rnd6 VJ Payne
They paid up for VJ Payne at the Round 6 slot when waiting would have done the job. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick197 Rnd6 Josh Moten
A reach on Josh Moten in Round 6, Pick 18; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
