Simpson should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B. The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jaylin Simpson fell into the 202nd overall pick.
They will need Nugent to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will answer for taking safety early while quarterback and wide receiver went begging.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
