Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
Larceny in the Round 6 slot lands the Packers a B, Keegan and all. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Trevor Keegan slide 58 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Ford reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick No. 25 they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that.
Pick58
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 26 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick67
Rnd3
Chris Braswell
They will replay Chris Braswell at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick78
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
A tidy little value on Jaylen Wright in No. 78, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick88
Rnd3
DJ James
DJ James in the 88th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick91
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in the 91st pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick100
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks slid further than he should have, and slot 100 is lovely value for the safety. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick126
Rnd4
Javon Foster
They did well to land Javon Foster in pick 126, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick169
Rnd5
Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford in the 169th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick202
Rnd6
Trevor Keegan
They robbed the room for Trevor Keegan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick219
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Fair-plus on Garret Greenfield, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick222
Rnd7
Fabien Lovett
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Fabien Lovett in pick 222, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245
Rnd7
Austin Reed
Value said wait; Austin Reed in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick255
Rnd7
Bub Means
Bub Means slipping to No. 255 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
