Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
The Bears turned the phones into found money: B+.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

The Frazier reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

The Kendall Fuller deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In pick 9 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
They talked themselves into Zach Frazier at pick No. 36, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick75 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
They took Michael Hall Jr. at par in Round 3, Pick 11, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick103 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at the 103rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick111 Rnd4 James Williams
A reach on James Williams in No. 111; the board had better options right there. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick123 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
They paid up for Theo Johnson at the 123rd pick when waiting would have done the job. It adds depth where they could use a little.
