Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns let Jones fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Trente Jones slide, and the Browns were the ones holding the card at No. 243. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick54
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell slid further than he should have, and pick 54 is lovely value for the edge rusher. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick85
Rnd3
Adisa Isaac
A edge rusher of that caliber at pick No. 85 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick156
Rnd5
James Williams
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, James Williams in the 156th pick, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick226
Rnd7
Fabien Lovett
Fabien Lovett in slot 226 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick243
Rnd7
Trente Jones
The board fumbled Trente Jones all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
