Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending No. 121 on Beaux Limmer with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still wide open.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Owens at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
