Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Titans: B. There is a lot to like until you notice running back is still a hole. The Titans never got to the one that mattered most. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Carter has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick No. 7 they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick38
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Nothing to complain about; Chris Braswell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Max Melton
Max Melton in pick 106 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick144
Rnd5
Sincere Haynesworth
The board had cheaper options than Sincere Haynesworth at the 144th overall pick, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick184
Rnd6
De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark at Round 6, Pick 9 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick228
Rnd7
Ja'Had Carter
A conviction pick on Ja'Had Carter at the 228th pick that the board grades a round light. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
