Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Ravens won the night they stopped Sanker from sliding. Grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Ravens were there to profit. Jonas Sanker, the No. 130 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 210. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Dike lower, and that gap is the story.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In No. 27 they get a centerfielder for the defense. Need was not the driver here.
Pick59
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau is a better player than slot 59 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick91
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander at pick 91 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick129
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
Value with a capital V on Emery Jones Jr. in the 129th overall pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick136
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 34, with Cobee Bryant worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176
Rnd5
Ajani Cornelius
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ajani Cornelius in the Round 5 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick183
Rnd6
Quincy Riley
Good price on Quincy Riley in the 183rd pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick203
Rnd6
Chimere Dike
A premium they did not need to pay, Chimere Dike a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jonas Sanker
Jonas Sanker at the 210th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick212
Rnd6
Bhayshul Tuten
They robbed the room for Bhayshul Tuten here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick243
Rnd7
Luke Lachey
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Luke Lachey in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
