The Panthers let Judkins fall and pounced. Final grade: A-.

The Panthers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Quinshon Judkins, the No. 73 name on the board, in the Round 6 slot. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Panthers indulged a want in Norman-Lott while a need in wide receiver, cornerback and other spots stayed open. The veteran additions, Jonathan Mingo chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
