Majortom DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns

Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

FutureB-
The Browns robbed the room for Hampton. Final grade: C+. Call it larceny. Omarion Hampton sat on the board until pick No. 67, and the Browns did not need to be asked twice. A mixed bag that lands at C+.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Zabel has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In slot 6 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
They paid sticker price for Jihaad Campbell in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick37
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
A conviction pick on Grey Zabel at the 37th overall pick that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick67
Rnd3
Omarion Hampton
They will replay Omarion Hampton at the 67th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick68
Rnd3
Tate Ratledge
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tate Ratledge. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick94
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
They robbed the room for Andrew Mukuba here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jack Bech
Jack Bech in pick No. 102 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
