Pearsall should have been long gone. The Panthers pounced, and earned a D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Panthers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Pearsall.

They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.

Denzel Burke at the 65th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick101 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in No. 101 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.

A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Matt Goncalves. A need, and now a little less of one.
