Burton should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jermaine Burton got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at Round 3, Pick 31. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Jones pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, tight end and other spots still on the board.

The Eboigbe reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
