Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Falcons were there to profit. Renardo Green, the No. 71 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 4 slot. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Byron Murphy Jr. pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
